EuroPlus supports implementation of Sexual and Gender Based Violence legislation and policies in Kyrgyzstan

Since December 2019 EuroPlus is implementing a project in Kyrgyzstan contracted by the UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME funded by the UK embassy in Kyrgyzstan. The objective of the project is to support the implementation of domestic violence legislation and policies on Sexual and Gender Based Violence including child marriage through support to relevant state authorised bodies on SGBV, capacity building of law enforcement and promoting Pro-Bono services to the victim of domestic, sexual and gender based violence.

Within the scope of the project we are providing expert assistance to National Authorised State Bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, Government institutions, duty bearers of Violence against Women (VAW)/ Gender Based Violence and CSOs to progress in inclusive implementation of legal and justice sector reform. The project is further addressing VAW, promoting public engagement in VAW through Pro-Bono support to GBV victims and survivors including early marriages. Furthermore, we build capacities of prosecutors on VAW legislation and new criminal provisions, raising awareness.
